Concert At The Caverns

Ever see a concert inside a cave? It was our first time, too!

In south central Tennessee, between the hollers and the hills, is an underground music venue called The Caverns.

The venue may be underground but the list of top-notch bands who have played here is upper atmosphere.

To get into The Caverns, you trot down a graveled hill. We lined up with our friends to enter the venue, not knowing what to expect.

Sure enough, around the bend, the huge cave came into view. The entrance was a giant opening under a limestone shelf.

Inside, the cool air hits you first. Then the cave opens up to a large auditorium and stage. You’re enclosed in natural a rock formation, which bounced the stage lights all around the walls.

The acoustics in the cave were incredible. We came here to see Kingfish – a talented blues band who rocked the room with a stand-out performance.

The Caverns has been hosting top-tier talent for about 20 years. PBS records most of their sessions, including the show we saw. We’ll be on TV!

What an incredible venue for music. Hard to believe I’m just finding out about this place now.
