The Biker Club Party

by Richie

We joined a motorcycle gang. For one afternoon.

   * * * * * * * * * * *

A few weeks ago Tim’s band was hired by a biker club. The party was miles out in the country, off a road called Knife You. Or maybe it was Knifely. Anyway it was out there, in a field next to a dirt track.

On that steamy August afternoon, the big motorcycles rolled in as the band set up their gear.

The gig was a club-sponsored charity event. A stage was provided, along with a couple of food trucks. BYOB turned out to be moonshine.

If you know anything about motorcycle clubs, you understand these guys have big hearts. Despite the extreme tattoos and scary insignia, biker clubs are generous to a fault and known for their community service. And the occasional knife fight.

The band played a couple of hours straight, through the threat of thunderstorms and a whipped up wind.

Predicted bad weather kept the crowd small, but they were appreciative of the music.

And everything was family friendly.

I was grateful for the tame crowd and happy not to be a witness to any crimes.

And the band sounded good.

As dusk crept in, it was time to pack up the guitars and drums. Another band took the stage to keep the party going.

Whew – so glad the Biker Club afternoon turned out to be a good time. I’m ready to sign up!

I agree with Birgit. The photo with the pink and red trike next to the bike was my favorite. 🙂
