The dog days of summer are still hanging around and there’s been a mash-up of activities around here.
There was a huge smoke plume at the end of our street so I had to go investigate. Turns out it was a controlled burn to get rid of some debris as they start to build a new distillery, almost within walking distance from our farm.
On the way back from the fire I found my neighbor busy busting up a stump. We argued politics for a while, but I had to be careful – he had a sledge hammer in his hand and all I had was a camera.
Grabbed my gal pal, Rhonda, and we headed to Nolin Lake in the RV. Whether we were floating in the lake or drinking wine, we talked politics for three days. There’s no escaping it these days. Everybody’s got an opinion.
Caught up with Tim’s band, Boobie Stew, at a practice session and I took some photos of the band. I listened to them play for a while and then they took a break and argued politics. Sheesh. Can’t get away from it.
Brought my dad down to the farm for a visit and we went to the local biker bar to see Boobie Stew play. It was hot, smokey, and loud and we drank beer all night. No politics involved. Perfect!
That’s how our summer is winding down. How’s yours?
