Take me out to the ballgame. Take me out to the crowds…

It was the Cubs vs. Reds at the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati on a perfect spring day.
I’m not a big sports fan, but I love being at a ball park. And I understand enough about baseball to enjoy the finer points of the game. (One of the finer points is knowing that $120 seats are worth it!)
My girlfriend is an avid Reds fan. She watched the all action and knew all the players. I got distracted with ballpark food. Forget the Cracker Jacks and gimme me a hotdog and some Skyline chili!
Big crowd that day. Friendly folks, too. I spent a lot of time people-watching. So much to see at a ballpark!
Occasionally I’d remember to watch the game.
A sizable contingent of Cubs fans were there. Cincinnati is not too far of a drive for these Chicago folks.
Things got exciting when the Reds had a 5-run lead in early innings.
But then…well, let’s just say the Reds could have done better. 
The Cubs won. Nothing left but peanut shells for the Reds.
Time to lick our wounds and head home.
If they don’t win it’s a shame.
For it’s one two, three strikes you’re out.

All big Cub fans here! Daughter and family going to Chicago in July to Wrigley Field to see Cubs in person. Been watching a lot of baseball with U of L at College World Series, making it to quarterfinals until big loss Tuesday to Coastal Carolina, a likely winner of it all if their pitching holds up to games with LSU next week! We were watching most of the games and exciting to witness (TV) a no hitter by an Arkansas pitcher to eliminate Murray St. ,only the 3rd in the College World Series, and the 1st since 1960! U of L had a couple of late inning comebacks….it’s never over til it’s over….until it is!
It’s my dream to see a game at Wrigley Field!
