Batsy In The House

Batsy

The region’s hottest new band, Batsy, laid down some smoking licks at their debut performance last Saturday.

Enthusiastic fans lined up for Batsy’s world premier, which opened at Nelson County’s newest countryside venue (our farm).

Music lovers tailgated (in our living room) before the highly anticipated debut performance.

Outside, savvy stage hands (the band) expertly prepped the sound stage (our carport) for the big show.

Batsy opened the first of two clean sets with crisp driving rockers from Jimmy Reed, Cream, and Hendrix. Playlist also included crowd favorites Mustang Sally and Roadhouse Blues.

On drums, Jerry threw down strong and assertive patterns, while potent bass guitarist Don leaned into his distinctive style.

Lead singer Davey exercised his vocal chops with original renditions, and Tim’s atmospheric guitar riffs cut through the soundscape.

An enthusiastic crowd responded to the band’s eager and confident pace with repeated standing ovations. BHS Class of ’86 represented with a strong force.

Other music fans came from far-flung locales, like Lexington and Louisville. “We’ve been looking forward to this,” one couple said. “Where’s the beer?” asked another.

A slight drizzle, perfectly timed between sets, offered VIP ticket holders (everybody) a chance to enjoy catered eats in the Presidential Suite (our dining room).

Later Batsy played a rich second set of top notch ear candy, including songs from Eric Clapton, Johnny Cash, and John Mellencamp.

Appreciative fans demanded an encore, which the band obliged with a blistering rendition of Tom Petty’s You Wreck Me Baby.  Batsy played two hours of entertaining rock, after which they said, “That’s all the songs we know. Good night, everybody!”

The after-party continued on at (our) bourbon bar well into the night.

Fans are already asking about future performances. Batsy’s next appearance will likely be at the local biker bar. Dates TBD.

Rock On, Batsy!

The band was definitely great and the audience daring since sitting in a light drizzle didn’t chase many inside. Definitely an event launchpad for Batsy! May many gigs follow!
