Still Lifes on the Shelf

Still Lifes

still life (plural: still lifes) is a work of art depicting mostly inanimate subject matter, typically commonplace objects which may be either natural or man-made.

How to amuse yourself when a spouse is on a long, boring shopping trip?

Look for shiny things to photograph – Still Lifes on a Shelf.

Taking still lifes of merchandise, all shiny and new, was a good way to make the time fly while Tim had a long shopping list to fill.

Of course there was an off chance the clerks might kick me out of the store for suspected industrial espionage, but I counted on their surly indifference. Above the pay grade, so to speak. The way I figured it, part-time Big Box employees aren’t paid enough to care about a loony customer kneeling in the aisle with a camera. And it proved true, I went happily unchallenged in two different stores, clicking away.

So here’s the result of my Still Lifes on a Shelf – courtesy of Home Depot and Hobby Lobby.

Now that I’ve learned how to amuse myself I’ll be happy to tag along the next time Tim needs supplies. Just don’t tell the manager.
